Abu Mohammad Ferdous get birth in his maternal grandfather house at District: Dhaka, Sub-division: Munshiganj, P.S: Gojaria, Village: Lakshmipur. His nickname is Khoka. As per written paper by the mother Meherunnesa Khatun regarding the date of birth of her child-
Khoka: In 11th Falgun 1330 corresponding 10th February 1924, Saturday at 6 a.m. but we know that, 11th Falgun never corresponding with 10th February. If we count the correct date of birth as Saturday, 11th Falgun’ 1330 then it will be corresponding with Saturday, 23rd February’ 1924. In the written birth list of Meherunnesa, there is not found any disparity regarding the date of birth of her other child. Perhaps, the date of birth of her first child is written after some days of his birth that’s why there is appeared this confusion.
Ekramuddin Ahmed, father of Abu Mohammad Ferdous, served in a government job as sub-division School Inspector. Most of his service time is passed in Dhaka. After that, two years in Barisal, three years in Dinajpur and the last three years in his own district Khulna. His paternal house was at Shaikhpara, of Atra village, Fultala, Khulna. Ekramuddin had five sons and two daughters. His younger son Manu died of rheumatic fever in 30th June 1949 in lack of treatment. After the partition of country, there was a scarcity of doctor in this country. Besides this, there was no treatment regarding the rheumatic fever at that time.
Abu Mohammad Ferdous was the first child of his parents. His father's working place was in Dhaka and they resided in a tenant house at Narinda of old Dhaka. In his childhood, he took his lesson from his mother and his handwriting was very beautiful by the effect of excellent handwriting of his mother. He took his study in Dhaka Collegiate School, Dhaka up to the year 1937. In 1938, his father transfer in Barisal and he comes to Barisal with his parents, brother & sister and got admitted in Class Eight at Barisal Zilla School. In the first part of the year 1940, his father transfer in Dinajpur but he stay in Barisal and his residence become the student's boarding-house of Zilla School. In 1941, he passed the SSC examination from that school and got admitted in ISC at Daulatpur B.L. College, Khulna and the Muslim student hall become his residence. In the December’ 1942, his father finally transfer in Khulna and duties to find out the residence house is imposed upon him. He search the whole town with his friend Syed Wasef Ali with a view to rent a blank house but he is failed to get it after requesting the house owner too. At last, Dhiren Vottacharge, the elder son of the landlord of Sreenagar- Sreesh Vottacharge, is agreed to rent out their blank two storeyed house.
